The Struggle Of Enrique Peña Nieto To Answer A Simple Question At A Book Fair



Mexico’s presidential polls are coming up in July and every candidate is doing something to attract public interest in them. But some candidates falter at those events. One of the front-runners in Mexico’s presidential election, Enrique Peña Nieto, struggled to answer a simple question that was posted to him by a journalist. Mr Peña Nieto holds a very good lead in the opinion polls that was conducted recently over most of the social networking sites that are being used in Mexico. He is married to a television actress and so does not have any problems with the publicity. When Mr Peña Nieto was interviewed during a international book fair in Guadalajara, he was unable to answer a simple question. The interviewer asked to say the three books that influenced his life. He said that he has been influence by the Bible and had read “only parts” of it. From there on, he rambled and spelt out few titles in a confused manner. Though he sought help, he could not workout the titles and their authors correctly. He kept on making errors. This has paved way for many controversies in the country. Some people in the country believe that this incident would make the people to not vote him. Though this was no major blunder, as many incidents like this have happened before in the country, his answer on reading only parts of the Bible is under heavy criticism. He apparently feels that good grace would calm the controversy Mr Peña Nieto however tweeted that he had read most tweets twitter on this controversy. He also added that most tweets were so funny and others were more critical. And thus he thanked everyone for their tweets. Lets wait and see whether this incident has any real effect on his quest to become the president.
